Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)

DTAC is seeking a strategic, experienced, and mission-driven Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and oversee the organization’s compliance, quality assurance, regulatory, and risk-management functions across our behavioral health and residential treatment programs. This executive leader will play a critical role in ensuring operational integrity, regulatory readiness, and a culture of ethical, high-quality care throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and future expansion regions.

The CCO will partner closely with executive leadership, clinical and operational teams, HR, and program leadership to strengthen compliance infrastructure, support accreditation readiness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives organization-wide.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and accreditation standards across all programs and locations
  • Maintain readiness for licensing reviews, audits, and accreditation surveys, including CARF and Joint Commission
  • Conduct internal audits and lead corrective action planning
  • Oversee development and maintenance of compliant organizational policies and procedures

Risk Management & Quality Assurance

  • Lead incident management, trend analysis, and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Oversee quality assurance programs to ensure operational consistency and service excellence
  • Analyze compliance and operational data to provide recommendations to executive leadership
  • Support standardization of compliance practices across multiple sites and service lines

Training & Staff Development

  • Develop and deliver organization-wide compliance education and training
  • Provide regulatory guidance and coaching to leaders and staff
  • Partner with HR on onboarding and ongoing compliance education initiatives

Investigations & Corrective Actions

  • Conduct and oversee internal investigations involving compliance concerns or policy violations
  • Document findings and monitor implementation of corrective actions
  • Serve as a confidential and objective resource for reporting concerns

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with operational, clinical, and executive leaders on compliance strategy and organizational growth
  • Support licensing and expansion initiatives in new regions and programs
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ethics, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in compliance, quality assurance, regulatory oversight, or risk management within healthcare or behavioral health settings
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid, state licensing regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and corrective action planning
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania
