JOB SUMMARY: Receive and dispatch emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses: direct inbound and outbound telephone calls to appropriate departments, internal and external.

EQUIPMENT: Computers, telephones, printers, pagers, and other related equipment items not specifically listed may be added as new items are introduced.
\n\n
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as explicitly noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
\nAssists ground and/or air resources for emergency responses.
\nCoordinates first responder notification of fire departments and other agencies as required.
\nReceives and keypunches requests for ground and air response.
\nDocuments daily activity.
\nProvides pre-arrival instructions using EMD.
\nTrains new Communication Center employees as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
\nHigh School Diploma or GED.
\nMinimum 1 year of emergency dispatch required. Sign-on bonuses available for those with 2+ years of experience.
\nNational and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or higher, determined by appropriate state requirements, preferred.
\nCompletion of the EMD certification is required.
\n\n
