ELECTRIC MOTOR ASSEMBLER (ION) Ilmor provides design, development, testing, and manufacturing of performance engines and parts for major manufacturers and racing teams throughout the world. Our clients include MasterCraft, IndyCar, ARCA, among others. All of our high-performance engines and components are precision engineered to the highest standards, utilizing the latest manufacturing technologies and quality systems.
The Electric Motor Assembler will join an established team and support the assembly of the ION Electric Outboard Motor. This position may assist other colleagues who produce our Marine internal combustion engines.
Essential Job Functions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): - Must be able to follow instructions carefully, including quality procedures, which may require some basic reading skills and the ability to follow diagrams and pictures
- Must be adept at using machines, air tools, hoists and special processes
- Perform the same task repeatedly with focus
- Assemble engine and electrical parts with bolts, clips, screws, solder, cement, or other fasteners by hand or by using portable power tools
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Must be able to conduct assembly in the pre-paint and post-paint sections of the assembly line, as well as staging for pre-assembly, painting, post-paint and shipping.
- Inspecting fully assembled and/or partially assembled engines, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Install engines onto, and monitor engine functions on, hot test stands
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Associate's Degree in Electrical, Automotive or similar preferred
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a mechanical or electrical production or assembly environment
- Ability to organize and plan multiple tasks effectively
Compensation & Benefits - $20 - $22/hour based on experience

- 4-10s Schedule (Monday through Thursday, 6:30am - 5pm. Overtime will be scheduled for Fridays based on business conditions)
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: - The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and explosives.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
