Job Summary Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments to supply electrical power for lighting, equipment and machine operations

Essential Functions - Assists with inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.
- Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Supports with testing electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Assists with replacing conduit, wiring and circuit breakers as needed.
Required Qualifications - Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
Preferred Qualifications - Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Additional certifications: Typically requires an Electrician's license granted by state
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electrical Wiring Installation. Install Electrical Services. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Troubleshooting Electrical Codes.
Physical Requirements - Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
