Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our dynamic research and development team. This role involves performing microbiological testing, supporting quality control processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, a solid understanding of microbiology techniques, and experience working within GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to scientific research, product development, and quality assurance initiatives in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological assays and tests to evaluate the safety, purity, and potency of products in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards such as FDA regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and data collection using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Support quality control activities by performing routine inspections, environmental monitoring, and validation procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of samples for histology, molecular biology analyses, or other specialized testing methods.
• Follow detailed laboratory procedures to ensure consistency and reliability of results while adhering to GLP and CGMP guidelines.
• Collaborate with research teams to support scientific experiments related to microbiology, animal physiology, or veterinary terminology.
• Analyze data critically to identify trends or deviations, contributing to research & development projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper handling of biological materials in accordance with industry standards.
• Participate in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies by maintaining meticulous records and demonstrating adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Veterinary Science, or a related scientific discipline; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Proven laboratory experience in industrial or clinical microbiology settings; familiarity with research laboratory techniques is advantageous.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, GLP practices, CGMP standards, and quality control procedures.
• Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry and management.
• Strong understanding of laboratory techniques including molecular biology methods, histology preparation, and microbiological assays.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology concepts, and scientific research methodologies.
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures related to microbiology testing and analysis.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
