Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across our Georgia facilities. In this as-needed role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing high-quality images that assist physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will greet and prepare patients, verify orders and patient histories, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout each exam. Using advanced ultrasound equipment, you will perform abdominal, obstetric/gynecologic, vascular, cardiac, and small-parts studies as appropriate to your credentials and departmental needs, optimizing images according to established protocols and troubleshooting technical issues. You will accurately document findings, measurements, and images in the electronic medical record and PACS, and communicate critical or unexpected results promptly to the appropriate provider. You will adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards, maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality, and follow department workflows to support efficient patient throughput. As a PRN team member, you will provide flexible coverage for holidays, weekends, evenings, and call as needed, adapting to varying patient volumes and clinical priorities while maintaining professionalism and compassion. You will work closely with radiologists, sonographers, nurses, and providers, contributing to a respectful and inclusive culture built on teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement. Piedmont Healthcare supports ongoing professional development, offering opportunities for training, cross-training in additional modalities, and advancement of your sonography skills. The ideal candidate brings formal training in diagnostic medical sonography, current registry or eligibility (such as RDMS or equivalent), strong technical aptitude with ultrasound equipment, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-focused care. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a diverse care team are essential.
