Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Position (COTA) The Grain Valley School District is accepting applications for the position of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. The COTA will work directly with district Occupational Therapists to provide occupational therapy services to students and support the special education teams under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Essential Functions of the COTA Position Administers occupational therapy procedures and modalities to achieve special education program objectives under the guidance of an occupational therapist. Collaborates with parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel, and other professionals to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines. Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel, and outside professionals to provide requested information and assist with the development of plans for services. Assists the OT in developing IEPs, interventions, and educational materials to address students’ fine motor skill deficits and ensure regulatory compliance. Instructs students and staff on medical/behavioral attributes, use of assistive devices, and classroom suggestions that support students’ IEP goals. Assists the OT in maintaining files and records (e.g., progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans) to ensure accessibility and compliance. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g., training, IEPs, team meetings) to convey and gather information. Prepares written materials (e.g., activity logs, correspondence, memos, reports) to document activities, provide references, and convey information. Provides direct service to develop students' fine and sensory motor skills in accordance with established goals and objectives. Requirements Associate’s Degree in a job‑related area. MO License for COTA. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Location Traveling position.
