Overview
The O ff ice Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of Senior Services, with day-today reporting and program operations. Senior Citizens are a vulnerable population.
Therefore, we expect staff to treat all participants with compassion, understanding and patience. A person with experience working with Senior Citizens is preferred.
Responsibilities
Take over for Director of Senior Services in case of vacation or illness during program hours
Answer telephone, record messages and assist with telephone reassurance calls with seniors who are out for an extended period, are home bound or in a care facility to ensure safety and well-being.
Responsible for recording daily statistics for meals and transportation service for monthly analysis reports completed by the Director of Senior Services, along with other administrative tasks as needed.
Responsible for off ice filing
Monitor reservations and confirm attendance with participants.
Responsible for assisting with counting Senior Program contributions
Help Director of Senior Services coordinate and plan social activities for the Senior Center
Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director of Senior Services with the understanding that.

Qualifications
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or 2 years of work experience equivalent
Bilingual individual preferred (English/Spanish)
Familiar with Microsoft O ice computer programs preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience working in an o ice and working with senior citizens
Punctuality and reliability are essential
Ability to communicate ef fectively with Director of Senior Services
Ability to work independently and follow instruction
